Leslie Alperstein
Chief Executive Officer
Recently named Chief Executive Officer of the G7 Group, Dr. Leslie M. Alperstein is President of Washington Analysis Corporation, Washington’s leading governmental policy investment research group servicing the nations largest money managers. He has served as executive managing director and director of research of HSBC Securities, Inc., as director of economic and investment research for NatWest Securities, Prudential Securities, Shields Model Roland, Inc., and Legg Mason and Co. Earlier, he served as a captain in the U. S. Army, and as a staff economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Dr. Alperstein, a political economist widely recognized for his economic, political, and financial market forecasts, appears regularly on CNN, CNBC and PBS and is frequently quoted in the press. He received his B.A. from Western Maryland College and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Daniel Connell
Chairman
In addition to serving as the G7 Group's Chairman, Mr. Connell is the Chief Operating Officer for Xinhua Finance and is responsible for its worldwide operations, including all business units and subsidiaries. Prior to joining Xinhua Finance, Mr. Connell was President and CEO of financial data provider ComStock which was acquired by Interactive Data from Standard & Poor's in March 2003. Before being named ComStock CEO, he had been Executive Managing Director at Standard & Poor's since 1993, with overall responsibility for the Retail Market Services which included the ComStock Business Unit, Reference Markets, Advisor Services and The Outlook, and the Asian operations of Standard & Poor's Investment Services. Prior to S&P, Mr. Connell held a variety of operational positions at British Airways' subsidiary Bedford Associates, as well as a ten-year career with the American Express Company.

Michael Balaban
Managing Director

With more than 20 years of experience as a senior investment banker at Lehman Brothers and Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup, Mr. Balaban has specialized in Asia-related business, primarily focusing on China, Korea, and Japan. Currently, he also serves as Managing Director of Xinhua Finance and is responsible for the company's global integration of operations in the US and Europe and Xinhua Finance's cross-marketing of Asian services to other markets. From 2000-2004, he headed Balaban Associates, a financial and strategic advisory group which raised private equity and arranged strategic cross-border partnerships for US and Asian clients, including Xinhua Finance. Prior to that, Mr. Balaban ran Citigroup's Equity Capital Markets Group in Japan in 1998-1999. He received his M.A. in International Finance from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and his B.A. from Brown University.
